Frameworks:
‘Tides’ is the debut album from Manchester-based producer Matt Brewer aka Frameworks. Since the release of his first EP ‘Vanish’ back in 2012, Frameworks has been building a loyal following for his atmospheric and haunting compositions. ‘Tides’ sees him joining the dots between instrumental hip hop heroes Aim and RJD2, the epic soundscapes of Cinematic Orchestra and the deft songwriting of Bonobo.

Previous collaborators Rioghnach Connolly and JP Cooper return for the album with two tracks apiece. Rioghnach gives a captivating vocal performance on lead single ‘Calm The Still Night’ and the brooding ‘Dawn’, whilst JP (recently signed to Island Records) brings raw soul to ‘Old Friend’ and ‘No Place To Hide Away’.

The bedrock of the album is instrumental with Frameworks’ trademark string-laden productions taking in cinematic jazz (‘Patience’), folk (‘End’) and more uptempo fare in the shape of ‘Breathing Light’ and ‘A New Sun’. Tides’ shows just how accomplished Frameworks is as a producer and composer, showing a lightness of touch and genuine song-writing talent that few can emulate.

Tor:
Emerging in late 2012 with a sound that was all his own, Tor’s debut album Drum Therapy was the culmination of more than a decade of quietly honing his craft, merging the aesthetics of dusty samples with polished production, addictive melody and distinctive driving percussion. After catching the attention of Emancipator, it became the first release to launch his new label Loci Records. Even though Tor’s background had been strictly studio-based, he quickly found footing in the touring world supporting established acts like Emancipator and Bluetech on national U.S. tours, performing at multiple festivals such as Shambhala, BassCoast, What The Festival & Burning Man, in addition to remixing artists like ODESZA.

Now over 3 years since his debut, Tor returns with his sophomore album Blue Book. It serves as the perfect follow up—a natural evolution of the best qualities of his previous work, while pushing his sound forward with new sonic palettes, ideas and tempos. Named after a childhood drawing book, the album references a raw creative time in Tor’s life with the theme of reconnecting with that part of him after years of looking for purpose. It’s a record that plays like a journey from start to finish, with rhythmic bell patterns, chopped vocal harmonies, atmospheric swells, warm bass lines, and a newfound love of analog synthesizers all taking his songs to new levels, and establishes that Tor is an artist whose trajectory will be exciting to follow for years to come.

Lapa:
Ilya Goldberg began training in classical violin at an early age in his birthplace of Perm,
Russia. Since moving to the States in 2000 to pursue music full-time, his skill and
dedication has guided him on the nomad’s path from the Cleveland Institute of Music to
international tours out of his home base in Portland, Oregon.

In the classical realm, Ilya has performed with several Russian and American orchestras, chamber groups, and as a soloist. With over a decade of experience as a chameleonic studio musician on violin, viola, and mandolin he is lauded for his ability to fluidly adapt his improvisational mastery to any genre. Ilya also fills a unique niche by infusing electronic music with classical technique and a sensibility spanning epochs of music. His collaborators include RANDOM RAB, LYNX, RENA JONES, THE HUMAN
EXPERIENCE, FUTURE SIMPLE PROJECT and DEVOCHKA. Currently, he performs
and works closely with innovative electronic trip-hop producer EMANCIPATOR. As a producer under the moniker Lapa, Ilya weaves together musical stories with complexly textured harmonies, expansive melodies, and intricately layered beats. His music blurs borders and transcends boundaries, illuminating the resonance of universal forces and teleporting people to wild, dream-like places of serenity and connection.
