From Darkness to Light

A live music/art/poetry/film experience featuring the ‘combat therapy’ paintings and poetry of Nicolas Aaron Mezzanatto, a disabled Iraq combat Veteran who fought in “The Triangle of Death” southern Baghdad in with the 101st Airborne Infantry during the 2004-2005 timeframe.

Plagued with post-traumatic stress and suicidal ideation, Nicolas turned to painting, poetry and music to process the trauma he experienced.

From Darkness to Light takes us through a musical and visual journey, with nine songs, nine poems, and nine paintings.

Featuring music by the mind blowing cellist Third Seven, Nicolas himself as Oso Santo, and Tohora Mae, a heart melting vocalist and musician. Songs ranging from contemporary to indigenous healing hymns in Portuguese, Sanskrit, Spanish and English.

Special screening of the award winning short film "Tutu Grande" Written, Directed by and Starring Derek Sitter.

Prints and original paintings will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will go to arts education in Central Oregon.
