5 Chinese Seasons - Tea Ceremony

The Five Chinese Seasons: Earth, In honor of the season between summer (fire) and autumn (metal), we will brew the same tea in several different vessels to explore how the material, shape, quality, and age of the teapot affect the flavor of the tea. We will brew with a high quality and young Yixing pot; a ten-year-old, lower quality Yixing pot; a fine porcelain gaiwan; and a medium quality Japanese kyusu. We will be drinking an impeccable traditionally processed oolong called 佛/fó shǒu/Hand of Buddha.
