Recorded live in front of 65,000 fans on opening night of the 2017 Rodeo Houston, the album is particularly poignant to the Texas born-and-bred singer/songwriter. Watson’srise has been paved by years of hard work and perseverance. Eighteen years later, over a dozen recorded albums, more than 2,500 shows in the U.S. and Europe, and a newly inked global distribution partnership with ADA Worldwide, the Texas native is determined to stay true to his roots and deliver music directly to his fans.
Dylan Jakobsen isn’t your typical country artist. He didn’t grow up on a farm & he doesn’t drink alcohol. His love of country music stemmed from artists like Church, Stapleton & Petty whose lyrics helped him find his voice as a writer and shape his career. “I don’t want to be just another one of many. I’m here to prove that this is where I’m supposed to be.” Though you won’t see him onstage without his acoustic, Dylan has spent the last 2 decades learning all the instruments you hear throughout his music. His first album [From Where I Began] was a testament to that strong work ethic when the release garnered him his first Country Breakout Top 50 single [Silverado] as an independent artist. Since then, Dylan was named “One of 10 New Country Artists to Watch” has toured the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, and been a support artist on dates with Eli Young Band, Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, LOCASH, Chase Rice, Drake White & more. His newest release [I AM] walks you through a story 25 years in the making. From writing the songs, playing the instruments & producing the album, to building the home studio to record this in, this album is so much more than he could ever imagine. “You know I wanted this album to be special, to be more than just another release and be something I was proud of from beginning to end. And my only request is that you listen the album from beginning to end, at least 1 time before you judge it. Feel my story, hear my journey, meet the real me.”
