FAQ:

Can I hear the live piano music outside?

Music can be heard outside through wireless headphones. You can listen to the music acoustically in the lodge.

Are there drinks and food for purchase in the Nordic Center?

Absolutely. Enjoy! We'll have a variety of drinks including beer, wine and cider and light fare such as sandwiches and soups. Here's a description.

Do I have to ski or can I just listen?

You can simply listen in the lodge if you're not up for skiing.

What sort of pass do I need to use the trails?

Trail users who do not have a Nordic Season Pass will need to purchase tickets including the (discounted) daily Trail Pass.

Allow extra time to fill out a waiver, or fill it out ahead of time (see below).

Note: The Nordic Season Pass is different from the regular Mt. Bachelor Season Pass

How do I know what kind of ticket to purchase?

Please read the options carefully. There are two different showtimes each night.

The headphones are limited in number. You can only hear the music outside through the headphones. You can hear the music inside acoustically. Choose your own adventure. Headphone tickets offer the most variety and flexibility.

Can I fill out a waiver ahead of time?

  • Yes. Go to https://shop.mtbachelor.com/ . Or go to mtbachelor.com and navigate to the "Web Store"
  • Login in to an existing account. Or create a new account and then log-in.
  • Once logged in, select "My Account" from the menu near the top of the screen
  • Once in "My Account", select "Waivers" from the menu on the left
  • Sign the Mt Bachelor 25/26 Waiver. Parents or guardians must sign for anyone under the age of 18.

Can I snowshoe instead of ski?

Yes, you may snowshoe the candlelit trails.

Can I rent skis onsite?

Yes. Allow time before the show to rent skis.

Where do I go exactly?

Upon your arrival to the mountain, head towards the West Village Base Area and then to the Nordic Lodge, located on the north side of the parking lot.

Can I bring my own food and beverages?

We ask that you support the Nordic Center by ordering drinks and food in the lodge.

What time should I arrive?

We will start checking people in and handing out headphones 45 minutes before the start of each show. Please return the headphones promptly after the show.

Will there be future shows?

We have three concert events planned this season: December 13th, January 31st, and February 14th. We hope to see you throughout the winter! Each show is unique.

What trails are going to be candlelit?

Loops within The Upper Trails will be within listening range, including sections of First Time Around, Beginner's Luck, Warm Up Loop, and The Common Corridor. Open trails will be clearly designated with tea lights. Workers will guide you on where to go.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are refundable up to 7 days before the concert.

What if the weather is not cooperating?

We rarely cancel, but if there is extreme weather, we will do our best to reschedule. Tickets may be refunded if you are not able to make the rescheduled date.

Is it fun?

Some have said it's the one of the most magical events they've been to. Others have called it their "favorite thing to do in Bend".

Will I like the music?

Most people say that it moves them very much. It is a blend of original compositions, improvisations, and intricate covers.

You'll hear everything from music inspired by the stars and the cosmos, to film music, to classical music by Debussy, to Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Each show is magically unique.

How far will the headphones transmit the music?

We will light a couple of trails near the Nordic Center lodge. The range is 1/3 of a mile. Don't be alarmed if reception gets a tad fuzzy at the farthest part of the trail. It generally has a clear signal as long as you're within 1/3 of a mile.

Can kids come?

Yes. All ages are welcome.
